Gospel Music is one of a kind. There is no other music like Gospel Music. The uniqueness of gospel music comes from the originator of sound himself, the Lord God Almighty.
Gospel music exalts and glorifies the one from whom came the first melody and to whom the sweetest sounds belong. unlike the worldly music gospel is not identified by any particular rhythm or beat. Gospel is identified by lyrics that define and identify the Most High. When you hear of country, jazz, blues, rock, reggae and others, you know what rhythm to associate it with, but when you hear of gospel, you think of God, you think of inspiration, you think of Love and rhythm that could fit into most categories.
I say rhythm that could fit into most categories because even though gospel is not secluded to a particular rhythm section, we have to be careful that our style of music don't just adapt the world, but win them. Gospel music has to inspire. therefore, writers, singers and musicians need a true annointing.
We're not competing against the world, for we are more than conquerors through Jesus, and even though we have to abide in this world, the bible says we are not of this world. Gospel music should inspire everyone to draw closer to God, not to reminisce about wordly ways and worldly days.
Gospel music is sounds of inspiration and our lord loves to hear music that praises Him, worships Him, and testifies of Him.
